Hello, my family owns a dog that is about 14 years old, it is a mutt that we got from a local shelter but it looks like she may be part lab. She’s gotten very skinny over the past year and has started to develop small lumps on her body (but we are almost certain these are non cancerous) and her appetite has also diminished. My family has struggled to get her to eat and currently she eats a diet that changes weekly, it was just hotdogs one week and now we are feeding her deli meat we bought at the store because she refuses to eat dry or wet dog food. She throws it up occasionally, like this morning, she threw up the lunch meat but had not digested any of it. She threw up pure stomach bile about a week ago twice. Her mood is also very down, we had went on a short vacation for 4 days and when we came back she didn’t have the energy to get up or even wag her tail when in the past, she is ecstatic when we get home. I would like to take her to the vet but my parents seem to not want to since she is so old, but they don’t want to put her down since they think she is doing well but I think they just don’t want to lose her. Any advice on what to do in this situation would be great.
