Have you ever had a cat that deteriorated quickly from a cold or flu?

So a few weeks back I had to take both of my kitties in to see the vet due to some vomiting. Turns out they were fine and got a clean bill of health (they're just fast eaters and one had a bit of flea butt worms).

I think my girl kitty picked up a cold there as she's been a little snuffly, but otherwise she's in good spirits with a normal appetite.

She gave her cold to our boy, or rather - he gave it to himself because he enjoys chasing and wrestling with her.

Unlike her, he's been deteriorating fast each day that goes by and thankfully I managed to squeeze into a vet appointment today.

I'm crazy worried right now though since we still have five hours to go to the appointment and he's gone from just having a little sneeze on Monday to flat out hiding in corners, doing some weird breathing with his mouth open whenever he has to sneeze, refusing breakfast (I had to carry him over to his bowl and he still refused fancy feast). I keep checking on him under the bed and he breathes very soft. Holding him feels weird because he's just so ...lethargic? Limp? Also, he keeps one eye half closed and its wet so he's been pawing at it so he looks like he has pink eye or something.

This cat is the most lively of personalities and so I'm just so worried about him right now. I'm looking for anything I can know about what might possibly be happening to him before his vet visit.

For reference, he's had bordetella and rabies vaccine as a kitten. I'm wondering if possibly he didn't get a certain other vaccine that my girl kitty did (she was very recently vaccinated since we adopted her) which might explain how he's suffering so badly while she's an occasional sneezer, but otherwise acting normal?
