(English isn’t my first language, but I hope it’s understandable) So my boyfriend and I have recently moved in together in a new apartment with my cat. Our bedroom is pretty much a plateau upstairs with these ladder-looking stairs leading up to it. Rights beside these stairs there are three rafters. These rafters have of course been my kitties favorite play place because they’re up high from the floor. These rafters are kinda slippery and it’s a 6 feet fall. Now I know: “cats are pretty robust!”, “luckily cats land on their feet! Don’t worry!” and “that’s not too far!”. All my friends have been telling me this and that’s true but my cat is a clumsy 1 year old who acts like a kitten and she’s fallen two times already where she didn’t land on her feet. She gets way to excited and slips on these rafters and land pretty unluckily. The obvious advice would be to close the area off, but that’s not really possible because it’s so close to the stairs. It’s gotten to the point where I have to let her sleep in a separate room because she’s the biggest daredevil at night, and it hurts me to do so. Do any of you have some advice? All of my friends says I’m just too much of a worried cat mom, but I lost a cat a few months ago so I’ve become a huge wuss about this little girl. What do you guys think? Any solutions?
