My dog is really gentle and friendly but a lot of smaller dogs can be feisty with him because of his size. When I was walking him today, we saw another dog and I always ask, “Is your dog friendly? Can he (my dog) say hi?” Usually people tell me when it’s a bad idea or they’ll avoid my dog. This person told me their dog was friendly and the dog ended up biting my boy. He was bleeding for about 5-10 minutes and I’m taking him to the vet tomorrow (has all his shots). I just can’t shake this guilt I have. I feel like I should have known not to let my guy near the other dog and that it’s my fault. I know this is a learning experience but I still get really upset and sad when I think about what happened.
Does anyone have advice for letting go of the guilt and moving forward ? Thank you !
