I brought home a kitten and my cat is pissed. i have no idea what to do.

I have had my current cat since she was 3 months old. she’s now just turned 2 years old. she follows me around everywhere and although she’s not a super affectionate cat, she always lays just close enough to me to show she cares. she’s been the alpha of the house for her entire 2 years. my friend took in a stray who had kittens and i adopted one since i’ll be going to college in a few weeks, i wanted my cat to have a friend. but she absolutely hates the new kitten. my cat is now way more vocal and obviously annoyed and growls and hisses at the kitten all the time. if she even thinks he’s near her she will throw a fit and growl and hiss and i’ve tried giving her treats and feeding her near the room he’s in but she gets so mad. she started slapping me and biting me a few minutes ago because she’s so upset with me. i’m wondering if i should give the kitten back to my friend so she can find him a new home. i love the kitten, he’s so cute, but i don’t want my current cat to be unhappy. i’m doing this for her and if she won’t accept him then i think i should let her be the only cat in the house again. anyone have any ideas on what i should do? it’s only been about 3 days but my cat is honestly getting angrier and not more accepting at all. i’ve watched tons of videos on how to introduce them and nothing i do appeases my cat. it’s getting really stressful
