Backstory: my sister rescued our cat Stella when she was a tiny kitten. She was a feral cat at a barn. We raised her and her "brother" in the same home in a small town in Minnesota for their whole lives up until about a year ago. Stella just moved with my dad to Florida. She never was an outdoorsy cat because shes very skittish and afraid of everything. She mostly hid in my room, under my bed. In Florida, Stella will now stay outside for days at a time until she feels like she wants something to eat and comes home.
Stella has been spayed (since she was big enough to get the surgery) and has therefore never had kittens. Just today my mother realized she could feel nipples on Stella. My mother believes that Stella has been letting the feral kittne sin the area suckle from her, even though she is not producing milk.
Is this safe for Stella? Has this sort of thing happened before?
