I have a friend thats an alcoholic and was in denial until recently. My friend also smokes weed on the daily. She has a dog thats a jack russell that has crazy energy but is always pent up in her apartment just suffering cause my friend is too busy drinking and smoking til falling asleep everyday. Like all day my friend wakes up fills the dogs water and food bowl goes to work comes back lets the dog out for 5 mins comes back eats dinner and gives the dog straight up sugary people food for dinner in smokes and drinks til falling asleep. Repeat each day. Im getting anxiety about the dogs health and want to find a legal way to get the dog out of her custody cuz every time i am there i take the dog out and the dog is so excited to actually leave the yard cuz it never does. And never wants to go back indoors. My friend is the worst dog owner and wont do anything about it or even admit being a bad dog owner. Obviously were not really friends at this point i am disgusted with them. My other friend said i can contact a shelter and report what is going on. Can someone give me advice? At this time my only plan is to contact a nearby dog shelter tomorrow and explain what is going on. Can someone help me? Thanks in advance. Feel free to ask questions. I have had anxiety about this for the past week.
