A little over a week ago my husband and I adopted two kittens from a woman who was fostering them. We intended to only adopt one but when we met with her she had his sibling and we decided we didn’t want to separate them. When we said we would take both she broke down in tears and we found out that this was her first time doing this and we were her first adoption. I could tell she was upset so I offered to send her pictures. We exchanged numbers and I send her pictures every once in a while. Come to find out she has two kids who were both VERY attached to the kittens. So much so that her daughter got my number out of her moms phone and then pretended to be her mom asking for more pictures of the kitty’s. I figured it out pretty quick when I suddenly had a strange number texting me. I don’t mind sending pictures or even that her daughter texted me (I thought it was funny) but today she asked if we would meet up with her with the kittens so that her kids could say goodbye. I like the idea of them getting some closure but I’m a little scared it’s going to turn into something else. We adopted the kittens. They are under our name now. But I’m scared she’s going to try and get them back or that her kids will cry and try to guilt me into letting them go (which won’t work, just saying). I already told her yes but I’m having second thoughts and don’t know what to do.
Side note: I also don’t want to meet at her house or mine because of the Covid spread rising where we live and would like to meet in a neutral space if we do even end up doing the meeting which just makes things more difficult
