I have a nearly 12 year old cat. He was adopted as a kitten when I was 8-9 years old. He and I bonded immediately, so when I moved out of the house, I took him with me. While under my mom's care, he and the other two cats in the house we're fed Purina cat chow and Fancy feast... The worst stuff basically...
My cat made it very clear that he didn't like the dry food, and would only eat it because he needed to. I wanted him to have better nutrition anyways, now that I was responsible for his health, so I transitioned his food to MUCH better dry and wet food. He enjoys the dry food much more, and he seemed to like the wet food for a while. He would eat about half a can in one sitting, and he would finish the rest later. But he has been eating increasingly less... Now he doesn't even finish a fourth of a can in a day... and he's MAYBE only eating a fourth cup of dry food a day. He is acting totally fine though... He's social and snuggly and looks healthy... But I don't know why he suddenly isn't eating much at all. Does anyone have any experience with this?
