our family owns 6 dogs and lately, random cats have been dying. last month, in the second floor of our house in the balcony, i found a kitten and it's mother living there and i tried to tame them. I gave them food until they were fond of me.
after several weeks, the mother cat then left her kitten, and i felt that i had to take care of her since she's already used to this environment, and our dogs are always around outside. So I named her Luna.
But then, 2 days ago in our boarding house which is inside our land/territory, I've seen our dogs bite a malnourished kitten. I tried to stop them as best as i can but in the end, the kitten died.
afterwards, i heard a meowing, and found two kittens, i brought them to my room, for safety. i called my brother and we buried the dead kitten. we went to my room to check the kittens, and realized that they were very thin, they were the size of luna when i first saw her. They didn't eat the sardines, only luna did, they pooped everywhere and vomited. judging from that and their appearance, they were not being taken care of someone. well, not properly. So i let them stay in the second floor of our house. the dogs are still in the first floor.
so here's the thing, i have no problem in keeping luna. but I'm considering giving away the two other kittens.
here's the reason why: They would only eat meat and freshly cooked fish. I try my best to keep them away from the 1st floor, where our dogs are at but they've learned how to use the stairs and would go down when they're hungry. Due to the pandemic, I'm not able to buy cat food, and since I'm still a high school student i couldn't go outside. We also lack supplies, and the two kittens wouldn't eat what i give to them except if it's meat. i also want to bring them to the vet, but thw thing is i can't. My mom knew i was taking care of some kittens but the least thing she can do is to bring them away from our dogs. I'm not sure if she agrees that i take care or not but i guess it's up to me. also, I'm getting anxious about them being killed by our dogs whenever they go downstairs and I'm asleep. i also have asthma but I'm still willing to take care of Luna, I'm not having any attacks while taking care of them but the litter box does stinks and i have trouble in cleaning that.
For the meantime, I locked them in a vacant room with supplies.
What are your tips on taking care of them or do you think i should give them away?
