So I just moved my parent's dog into my home, she's a small maltese with a sensitive stomach and we make sure she eats certain kibble, she also older so I cant really feed her in meals as she takes her time to eat her kibble. My roommate has a German Shepard who is overweight and currently on a diet so he needs to stay put on his own kibble as well. The problem is that they both like to eat each other's food. I keep my dog's kibble in my room while the german shepard's is always downstairs. i figured the best way to keep the small dog out of the other's bowl is just to get an elevated bowl, problem solved. BUT when im gone I like to keep my door cracked so she can go in and out to sleep or eat when she wants. I would like to have a way to keep my door cracked to only a certain point where the big dog cant get in and eat her food. Does anyone do this sort of thing or has another solution?
