Two Questions

Pets in my house:

6 month old German Shepherd (f)

13 year old Lab mix (f)

7 year old Tabby and Maine Coon mix (f)

10-11 year old cat (He’s black and white, but I’m not sure what kind of cat he is) (m)

Question 1:

I’ve had my GSD pup for since the end of March and she is still chasing and barking at the cats. The cats hiss and scratch her. But the cats love my old dog and my old dog loves the cats. We put the pup on a leash and gotten close to the cats and she freaks out. Of course, the cats hiss and scratch. At a pretty far distance, my pup will observe them and whine while the cats sit there unfazed. We’ve given my pup blankets and things that my cats have payed on so she can get used to their scent. Any advice on how to get them to at least tolerate each other?

Question 2:

My 13 year old dog is constantly barking at nothing when she’s outside. She’s been following us around a lot more than she used to. She gets this kinda crazy/senile look on her face a lot. When she was young, she was hit by a giant truck (she flew almost a block). She broke all four legs and her tail was paralyzed. Her legs have healed, but it’s very obvious that moving brings her pain (we give her CBD for it) and she has a really difficult time moving around. I’ve also found a fatty tumor (lipoma) near her left front leg. I’m not sure how to phrase this question, but how do I know when it‘s time to consider putting her down?Of course, I don’t want to put her down, but I also don’t want her to be in pain.
