My inlaws are emigrating soon, and they're not sure that they'll be able to take their cat with them. They've asked if we'll take her.
The cat in question was a stray who adopted them about a year and a half ago, when she was roughly 6 months old. She appeared one day and just never left. She sleeps and plays in their large house, they feed her, but she spends most of her days wandering around outdoors.
We live in an apartment that's spacious, but very small compared to their house. If she lived with us, she would never be allowed further than the balcony, and only when we're home (we both work).
Would it be cruel to suddenly confine her to an apartment?
