I have a 4 year old cymric (manx) that means the world to me. He's my best friend. I didn't ever consider getting a dog because I don't want it to change our relationship. Now I'm in a relationship of 5 months with this great girl who has a cattle dog and another cat. I see her dog chase her cat and tackle him often and it's got me worried. The dog generally stops when we tell her no, but sometimes she re-engages. Knowing cattle dogs, she has the strong prey drive that comes with them. My girlfriends cat doesn't react much and kind of just takes it, but I know that my cat will respond aggressively because he has before with dogs. A friend brought a dog over in that case and as soon as it got close and jumped up on me my cat attacked. I think he's protective and I feel like an energetic dog is going to be a lot of stimulation for him. I'm just really worried that they won't get along. Is there any possibility that our pets will be able to coexist?
