I agreed to take on a foster litter 2 days ago and was told they have ringworm. I’m going to start by admitting that I’m an idiot and thought that ringworm would be just like roundworm that another foster litter of mine in the past had. I’m shaking my head as I write this.
So, they’ve been in my house 48 hours. I’ve absolutely been all over them (they’re cute as heck) and been navigating my apartment like normal. I’m already washing my sheets, clothes, and disinfecting every surface in the apartment. But—and I feel terrible about this—I’m looking for advice on if I should keep them in my house. Has anyone dealt with ringworm successfully before without it taking over their house? All of the posts on reddit seem hopeless that if I keep fostering until they’re healthy for adoption, my place will permanently be infecting by this fungi.
Help, please!! I appreciate any anecdotal stories you have.
