I just got a ~4 month old kitten last week and it's been a couple days now. She's sweet and affectionate but very timid. There are some days where she moves around alot and is playful and some where she sits/sleeps the whole day. I think the worrying part is that she doesn't eat regularly, and doesn't eat without coaxing. She hasn't lost alot weight and isn't thin, but today for example she barely ate at all. I can take her to the vet but right now, most of them are all booked up unless it's an absolute emergency.
This isn't my first kitten, the other one is a healthy boy who's currently around her age. After introducing them he's very sweet to new kitten and she doesn't seem to mind him.(I know the signs of agression and he doesn't show them) but whenever he tries to play with her she gets scared and hisses.
My questions are:
How can I monitor the new kitten's health and know if somethings wrong?
How can I help her be less scared of playing the resident kitten?
One is more urgent than the other, but id appreciate any response or advice.
