Is there a microchipped pet feeder for wet food with a timer on the market?

Or does anyone know of a workaround on another device or an alternative solution to my problem below?

I’d love to be able to go out of town overnight without having to bring in a cat sitter for two feedings a day.

My two cats eat twice a day and they’re bonded cats with outdoor access. They are food obsessed and they have to be fed separately and don’t do portion control on their own. (Don’t worry, they do receive the right amount of food - they have food anxiety because they were rescued as kittens from a home with 17 other cats where there wasn’t enough food.)

I’m looking for a feeder that is:

-Timed or can be controlled from an app. If I leave out double helpings of food (say, nighttime feed and morning feed) then the cats would just eat all of it in 2 minutes. They don’t graze.

  • Works on a microchip. If the cat feeders open when only one of them is in the house then that cat will eat all the food meant for both of them.

Has anyone else had to deal with this? This is an issue even when I do have cat sitters because when the person walks in the house, the cats run outside and won’t come back in until the person leaves. So they have to leave the food out and risk one cat eating all the food for both.

I can’t keep them separated in the house with just timed feeders because they need access to the only door with the cat flap.

I’ve seen this device, which looks the closest to being what I need but it’s not available anymore.
