About a month ago a very young pigeon landed on my balcony with the right foot cut off. I didn't expect it to survive as it was bleeding too much.
We called an NGO to get basic first aid (Vet is not available due to COVID lockdown) and it started healing.
The injured foot was just the exposed bone but it was eating and flying indoors and looked overall healthy in just 2 weeks.
I was planning on letting it go but 10 days ago I noticed that the poop was mucus-y and sticky (which I know is bad) and it could not stand or move its healthy left claw. The claw was also cold but regained motion in 3 days and looked better. Since then the pigeon has stopped any active movement and flying as it used to do and is lethargic.
The neck region also looks swollen
Yesterday, the expose bone fell off. I don't know how but I found the bone in the cage with some blood. There was no active bleeding and the wound is not "open"
I am really worried and it looks worse today, more tired to the point it is resting its head occasionally.
It has been eating and drinking as per usual.
Could someone guide me on what should be done?
TL;DR: Taking care of an injured pigeon which recovered and looked better but has started getting sick now. Need Suggestions.
