Hi all. My family dog is a 9 year old Boston terrier that we got as a puppy when I was a kid. Obviously when we got her we where uneducated about the unethical breeding of Bostons and other smushed nose breeds and didn’t know much about the health problems she could have. I always envisioned her living a long happy life. But yesterday she had congestive heart failure. She’s only 9. She’s on strict bed rest and on a few heart meds and she is going to be seen by a specialist on Friday.
This dog helped me through so much when I was a kid she is truly my best friend. I can’t imagine her living a life of pain and suffering and for her to have heart failure is just tearing me apart. We don’t know yet what caused the heart failure (that’s what the specialist on Friday can hopefully tell us) but I have learned that it is fairly common for her breed. I hope she can still have a few healthy years left as the thought of losing her this soon is tearing apart.
