Breed: border collie x hound
Weight: 56 lbs

Clinical signs: wicked diarrhea all over my room
Duration: this morning
Location: Ontario, CA
So this morning I got up to take a shower (dog was asleep on my bed) and when I came back she got up, gave me a weird look and proceeded to have violent diarrhea all over my bed. She clearly had no control over this as it actually terrified her, and she proceeded to run/poop all over my room. I had a family member take her outside and help her out while I cleaned up after her. Once outside she had one more episode but my family member said it seemed like she had more control as she actually stopped to squat this time.
I called her vet who took my information (ie she had her normal diet, didn’t get into anything etc) and decided she didn’t need to be seen but forwarded some information about what to do when a dog has diarrhea. I didn’t feed her for 6 hours until after the incident as per her vet, and she seems to be feeling a lot better. My main concern now that I know she’s okay is that she will not go in my room where the incident occurred. She usually loves my room. She’s a total suck for comfy stuff and even sleeps on my bed (moving into my fiancĂ©’s spot when he leaves for work). So it’s super weird to me she’s avoiding where she had her accident. Right now she’s actually curled up in my closet because she refuses to get on my bed or sleep on the floor near where she was sick. Has anyone ever heard of anything like this happening? I’m having the carpets professionally cleaned on Monday (soonest I could get it done) but I’m worried about her feeling scared in here.
UPDATE: she is now on my bed shaking. I’m going to give her somewhere else to sleep
Edit: i guess if this is worth anything, we did just get a new 10 week old puppy. While she can be energetic Maggie has played with her, and the puppy is pretty good. They’re definitely not the best of friends, but they don’t hate each other either.
I would also like to add I obviously didn’t yell at her or anything, she’s such a good girl and obviously this was way beyond her control so I can’t figure it out
