I’ve always been obsessed with animals. With that, I always want new pets and things to care for I still live with my parents and am gonna be moving out within a year or so. I’ve asked for everything from millipedes, to snails, to frogs, to elderly hamsters. I would be getting a fish but the tank just isn’t ready yet and my room isn’t set up in a way to where I’d be able to do routine water changes (which is a big deal considering it most likely played a factor in my last fish passing). Even today, we found hornworms outside and by midday tomorrow we should know what to do with them, and I’ve already gotten attached and love them like children. I looking into praying mantises but they love for a while as well. The best part with the hornworm is if I were to keep it, he’d turn into a moth, and then be released, so my parents aren’t too worried about it. But the longer they live, the more my parents worry about it ending up in their hands when I move out (despite me saying otherwise). So are there any animals that either live short life spans (even if they live a few months like praying mantises) that I haven’t listed (aside from roaches; that will be a no from my parents immediately) or animals/insects that I could phase out of my care like butterflies (except winters coming)?
Sorry this is so long, I have problems with keeping things short. Thank you in advance!
