Possible to switch pet insurance with allergies or am I tied to 24PetWatch forever?

I got my cat a few years back and she was covered but within the first few months, she developed allergies and requires an allergy shot 2-4 times a year. I’ve never had 24PetWatch reimburse me even tho she developed the allergy after the waiting period. They said my deductible wasn’t covered, it is $100 and each appointment is $90 so the later ones should be covered each year. They are also a bit more expensive each month and I am on a budget.

I’m a broke college student with medical debt and less than $300 in the bank. I previously had an older cat get extremely sick about two years ago and had to pay for $2500 in expenses and I still haven’t recovered. So not having pet insurance and saving up money each month instead unfortunately isn’t an option for me at this time in my life. While I could put away the premium each month, I have no way to pay for an accident or injury that is massively expensive.

Because of my experience with my older cat I am very set on keeping her protected. My older cat was fine for nine years and fell ill and rapidly deteriorated within three months out of nowhere, preciously looking perfectly healthy! Just to give context as to why I cannot drop insurance!

I able to switch pet insurances with her allergies or am I stuck?
