So, about a year ago, my strictly indoor cat got a bad case of fleas. I never found out how fleas got into my apartment. I did a Frontline treatment (which did nothing).
While dealing with the flea issue, I did some deep cleaning, and disassembled an infested carpeted cat tower (the only carpeted surface I had in my apartment). I put the disassembled tower in the trunk of my car (I don't drive much, so my trunk is pretty much just storage space). And ordered Fleabusters to decontaminate the tower. The Fleabusters took a while to arrive.
Shortly after disassembling and removing the tower, my vet gave my cat a shot and a flea bath that pretty much solved the flea issue going forward. Then some personal life stuff came up that diverted my attention, but happy to say cat has been flea-free and healthy for over a year.
Now, I'm in the process of moving apartments, and I still have the disassembled tower in my car. Pretty much nothing has entered or exited the trunk since I put it in there. Today, I used the Fleabusters on the tower -- I did this outside my apartment, in a friend's driveway. I just brushed all the carpet with a hand brush coated in the powder. I then had to put the tower in a storage unit until I can move into my new place.
Do I have anything to worry about putting the tower into my new apartment? I've never used Fleabusters before, I don't know how long can flea eggs can remain dormant, and even as I was cleaning it a year later, there was still a lot of flea dust on the tower pieces.
I realize this might possibly be a paranoid question, but I get anxious when thinking of pet health issues. Thank you for any replies or advice
