So long story short my cat is an indoor/outdoor cat and wandered into the yard of a neighbour who grabbed him, collared him (pink collar thought he was a girl LOL) and locked him inside for 2 plus weeks (we were on holidays, cat sitter said she hadn’t seen him, we posted everywhere, signs everything nothing just had given up). Clearly he wasn’t able to go outside or he would have ran home like he did today.
We found him because our other cat we hadn’t seen all day so I walked to dog around the block calling our other cats name. Our other cat was sitting beneath a window, in the window was my missing cat. I started yelling that’s my cat and ran home to drop the dog off before I go kick the door down. Our missing cat appeared a few seconds after I got home, like the thief had let him out when he heard me freak the heck out.
So I rip off the collar stomp back to the guys house (young guy, ignored our posters, was a part of same Facebook groups I posted in) give him a ripping, returned the collar said you are dumb as hell its a boy essentially, and stormed off.
But my question is now what? I’m going to collar my cats even though I don’t believe in it (my parents cat died cause of a collar). Do I keep my cats inside? Do I not? Tracker? Do I just say f it and let the cat go visit the creepy dude?
My cats are both microchipped.
