Hi! Last night my siberian husky and i went for a walk. I noticed a woman with her chihuahua in the area with no leash so i decided to take my dog in another area to use to restroom and i noticed she moved her dog to a different area as well. After our walk, i headed back and saw her and her dog again, so i took the long way around just to avoid my dog even getting a glimpse of her pet. I know what my dog is capable of when spooked, so i was doing all of this for a reason. Before i know it, her chihuahua let out a bark behind my leg and my dog lunged. He had the dog in his mouth basically pinned. I look up and the owner has her back completely turned not even paying attention to her dog before she heard me calling for her attention. I fear my dog may have killed her dog from how hard he bite down on such a small breed. She just grabbed her dog and ran back up her stairs crying and i think i heard her apologizing. Im currently having bad anxiety because i just moved here and i could tell the leasing office was not too fond about the breed of my dog but they had no choice because he is a registered ESA and i have a letter from my psychiatrist. I guess i just would like to know, could i be held accountable for this?? My dog was on a leash well under control before her unleashed dog ran up behind us. I plan on letting the office know what happened on my end, although my dog was on a leash i just dont want any problems
