I'm considering getting a puppy or a kitten (provided the Real Estate that owns the place I'm currently at allows it), but I've never had a pet while being a roommate. We've had a cat and a dog since they were little (< 10 years ago), so I know how to treat them well and train them as part of a family, but I'm unsure about raising them with work commitments that force me out of the house (pre-COVID). What's it like raising it on your own while you work full-time away from home?
