I’m a nineteen year old college student. One day, my dad abandoned his dog with me and never looked back. I love her so much (she was my childhood dog, after all) and I’ve tried for a year to make it work. But the stress of trying to care for her in the way she deserves is crippling— mentally and financially. I’m moving soon, and I’m heavily considering bringing her to a shelter. She’s grown so attached to me though, and I feel it would break her heart —and mine. She is a special needs pit bull, and I seriously worry she will be put down and die alone in a shelter. What can I do?
