4 month old kitten is more scared than usual after hearing a sudden loud noise. What do I need to do to make him comfortable and less stressed again?

2 nights ago my kitten got startled by our vacuum hose falling over. It made a loud and sudden noise when it fell on the floor. it was a windy night and the wind was making that loud howling sound which I think was also scaring him. Anyways, after the vacuum hose fell, he ran soo quickly into the kitchen and knocked his bowl of food over. I went to see him and kept my distance. His back was arched, his hairs were standing all over his body and his pupils were dilated. He looked like he was ready to attack. I’ve never seen him this scared and startled before, it really shook me. He went to go hide in his crawlspace for a while. I left him alone. Fast forward to now, 2 days later and he is easily spooked. We can’t make loud sudden noises around him and we won’t speak too loud because I notice he is still so spooked. Plus I’ve noticed he’s over grooming. He was such a playful social cat but since the other night he is the complete opposite. He’s hiding under the bed, running away and not being his playful usual self. What do I need to do to make him comfortable and less stressed again?
