Home Alone 4: Cats Edition (Except they're not really alone)

Hi all, I live in an apartment with two other roommates but only one of them has experience caring for cats (I think) and fostered one of the cats that lives with me before I adopted him. I have one cat of my own, so two total, and Stinky is 1.5 years old and Melvin (the foster/adopted cat) is 3. I have had cats my whole life and feel like I understand them pretty well most of the time but I also know I'm not an expert so am open to criticism or advice. Basically, I work about 15 hours a week and go to school full time so I am not always able to be home, I also go to my boyfriends overnights sometimes or home on the weekends to do laundry or school work at the nearby library (if it's open bc covid).

I feel bad leaving my cats there but they aren't alone because one of my roommates is there to feed them (I let them know ahead of time when I will be gone but I didn't used to do that as much in the past which was wrong of me!! I am definitely getting better) and I have an automatic feeder to set up as well but want to wait until I have another one so both cats can eat and don't have to compete from the same bowl. Melvin is a relatively chill cat but Stinky is more rambunctious and often jumps on counters, knocks stuff over, etc, whether or not I'm not there, but I am wondering if my being gone makes his behavior worse? I never leave the cats alone as I have roommates that are there for the most part so I thought it would be okay since I have to be gone for work and I have an in person class a few times a week, but my roommate thinks that Stinky acts out more when I am gone. When I leave they will text me and ask if I am coming home soon because "Stinky is acting up." I want to respect them as I appreciate them caring for my cat and also want to make sure they get the best care, but it's hard because I am busy and have to be away from the apartment sometimes.

So, is it okay to leave them if there is another person there or should I try to be there 24/7?
