Moving houses, want to keep my cats litter box in the laundry room, but she isn’t a fan of covered boxes. Advice?

My family is moving soon, and instead of keeping my cats litter box in my CARPETED bedroom like I have for the past 4 years, I’m allowed to keep it in the laundry room. But only if it’s a covered box. I had tried to introduce her to a covered box a few years earlier but she preferred the uncovered one. Since then, I have taken her to school and her box had been kept under my bed which was fine so I feel like her standards may have lowered?

I’m willing to shell out some cash for a more roomy box so she doesn’t feel claustrophobic or something but I’m not sure if she will use it since she didn’t use the one before. I really don’t want to keep it in my room bc no matter how much I vacuum and clean and deodorize it always smells like litter and cat, and it is kind of embarrassing to bring people into my room.

Any advice on how to get my cat to use a covered litter box?
