We have the sweetest 2 year old small mixed breed dog. Last night I tried to sniff his butt (I think he either farted or maybe it’s time to get his anal glands squeezed, I couldn’t tell so I wanted to make sure) and he bit my face pretty aggressively. I don’t think it was an accident and he knew what he was doing. I screamed, he then came up to me immediately and tried to lick my face.
My heart is broken, I love my dog a lot, I’ve really never loved anything or anyone in a way that I love my dog (except my hubby!) It feels like it is the end of our relationship and the trust we thought we had is all gone. I may be a little overreacting here :(
Any advice here as to why he tried to bit my face? Internet says it could be maternal instinct, or the dog may be in pain and I may have touched a sore spot? None of them really applies to my dog, so just wanted to ask everyone here!
