Whenever I get out of the shower my 2 adopted cats go nuts to get into the bathroom and sit on the edge of the shower and sometimes lap up dripping shower water (they got plenty of water in their bowl) or lap up the leftover water on the floor of the tub. I try to catch them when the immediatly run in, but it is hard to pick up both of them at the same time, and if you only get one of them the other will not come out for nothing.
So once in awhile I just let them do their thing instead of constantly picking them up and carrying them out of there, but I was curious if tap water is super harmful for them? In the town I used to live in the tap water was really good, and perfectly fine to drink. This town I am in I noticed the tap water tastes a little weird, and leaves a white residue behind once it dries out. Is that water going to give them cancer?
