Hello! I have two 18lb cats, they are brothers from the same liter, currently 6 Years old! I do agree they are large and need to lose some weight but I’m a little worried with the advise I got from my vet. Since January, I put them on a diet - only feeding each 1/2cup each day. Food is Purina sensitive stomach and skin. They haven’t lost a pound despite following the diet. They are also fairly active always wrestling and playing with toys. My vet told me to decrease their food even more. I’m to fill up 3/4c and split between the two of them each day. I am only nervous because I don’t want to shock their system and cause liver damage. Are they just large cats and to be this large? I also just bought two slow feeder cat balls to make them be active while eating- my friend said it worked for her cat! Do you think it’s okay to do decrease their food intake to less than 1/2c each / each day?
Thanks for any advice!
