I adopted a four-year-old ex-tomcat about a month ago and he’s recently started lashing out at me when he wants food. I feed him a can of wet food and about 1/3 of dry food everyday which I was told should be enough. But every time I go into the fridge or pantry, where he knows his food is, he becomes really clingy and tries to get into the food. Sometimes he even lashes out at me by scratching the back of my calves and ankles when I walk out of the kitchen. Does anyone have any advice? I don’t want to over feed him but I also don’t want him to lash out.
