Hello everyone, over the last few months one of my cats has put on a lot of weight, to the point where we are getting really concerned.
Initially, they both gained a bit of weight. We did some research and decided that to help them lose it, we would spread the amount of food they need to eat throughout the day. My female cat got really anxious about food when we did this, and ended up putting on a big amount of weight once we returned to normal. Kind of what happens when you diet and end up gaining weight afterwards.
Controlling her food intake would be a lot easier if we only had one cat, but we don't want to also limit our male cat's food given that he is at a healthy weight now. We are also concerned that they would end up stealing each others' food, or that she'll get anxious again.
Could anyone who has been successful in getting only one of their cats to lose weight give us some advice? It would be greatly appreciated :)
PS: they are already eating light cat food and we don't feed them human food as they are not interested in it
