I got a kitten about a month ago. He was a stray and they're thinking he's about 20 weeks old now. My dog is very calm and has been around cats before. She gives him his own space and doesn't ever chase him. But sometimes all she has to do is walk out of the kitchen and he's hissing at her. I feel bad because I know he's just scared so I don't want to scold him, my dog just backs away usually and he eventually calms down but I was wondering when this would get better or if there's anything I can do to help this along? I made sure the kitten has his own cat tree and it's very tall so he has a safe space of his own, he also has a room the dog isn't allowed in so he feels like he has his own space but I don't know what else to do. It feels like he can relax sometimes and play and sleep on the couch near her on my lap but then randomly gets scared and aggressive? I want him to feel safe :( help!
