Hello r/pets, for almost my entire life I have had at least one pet. Me and my family currently own two cats who I love dearly, but I miss having one smaller, extra pet and would love to get one.
I am currently 17 years old and my mom said I can get a new pet if it doesn’t take up too much space or make too much noise (something like a reptile or a night rodent).
I do have some specifications though. I don’t have an extreme amount of free time and space. So something like a bunny is a no-go since they’re very social and will feel lonely, and I can’t get two of them either. But I do want something that I can kind of play with, if you get what I mean. I don’t just want a fish to look at or something like that.
So I would love to get some advice/recommendations from you for a pet that doesn’t make a lot of noise, doesn’t take hours per day to take care of, doesn’t feel lonely easily, doesn’t take up a whole lot of space and that I can kinda play with. Thank you in advance!
P.S.: if the best choice in the end would be to not take a pet at all then just tell me that!
Edit: I would even consider taking insects, because they are very interesting despite just being able to look at them.
