My cat puts his toys in the water bowl, which I can kind of understand I guess. But why does he steal other random stuff and put it in there? Pens, socks, hair clips, any small item. He doesn't play with the stuff either, so I don't think he's trying to put his toys in a safe place (as some internet articles say). He just carries random things to the water dish, puts it in, leaves it there, and seemingly forgets about it forever. I have to declutter his bowl every day so that he has room to drink.
What is going on in his weird cat brain? Why does he see a sock and think, "Man, I need to go dunk this in my water bowl ASAP."
