Advice for rehoming 8 kittens?

Hi reddit, I would love some advice on what to do in the situation I've found myself in. My parents live in the country in the middle of nowhere in TX and their two feral barn cats had eight kittens total. I believe all the kittens were born around the same time. I helped pull them at around 6 weeks from the moms and we have been socializing them inside for maybe three months now. They were not planning on keeping them as long as they did and now are pressuring me to find something to do with them.

They are absolutely wonderful kittens and I love them and I am just overwhelmed at how I can make sure they get good homes. All of them are really well socialized except one who just never really warmed up to people. Two of them are complete hams are going to make amazing pets. My parents want to go hand them out for free at Walmart which I think is a terrible idea. You just don't know who is picking them up and whether or not they will just be thrown outside and not taken care of. They are from such a small town that I could easily see this being the case.

I just don't know what my options are for these guys. I've been considering FB marketplace or finding a nice rescue or shelter that would take them, I am just so worried and invested in them and I want to give them the best life possible. I've fallen in love with one esp, but I live in a tiny apartment across the state with a very anxious kitty and a high energy dog and I just don't think its feasible for me to take one in right now. I might have a home for one of them but I am just deeply struggling with what to do with the rest of them. I don't mind driving 2-5 hrs to get to some of the major cities in TX, would that give them a better shot at life than in this tiny country town?

Both feral barn cats have been spayed at this point, I am just kicking myself that I didn't do more to help my parents from getting in this situation in the first place. Any advice would be very much appreciated, thank you!

TLDR; Feral cats left us with 8 beautiful ~4 month old kittens, overwhelmed with finding them good homes.
