Five weeks ago we adopted a lab shepherd mix puppy from a shelter. The poor booger has had nothing but problems. First he developed an upper respiratory infection, following that he broke out in a rash under his front legs, belly, and on the inside part of his floppy ears. His newest adventure is losing the hair around his eyes. He has been tested for mange on two separate occasions and both times the tests came back negative. The hair loss coincided with when his next flea treatment should have been. Vet prescribed Nexgard (took his first dose today) because it has been found to treat mange and mites (just incase if that's the real problem and they keep missing it) and because it's great for fleas. So my question...of it is food allergies how long do the symptoms normally take to present? I have had a few people (groomer and pet obedience instructor) mention allergies. He was eating Iams large breed puppy and we weened him onto Authority large breed puppy. Hair loss started 4 1/2 weeks after bringing him home.
