Cat jaw spasms?

Forgive me if this isn't allowed, it can be deleted if so. I didn't know where would be appropriate to ask this!

Some background: I have a little cat, she's 2.5 years old. I adopted her from a rescue, and they said she was perfect in health aside from her teeth, she's had issues with eating and had gingivitis. She will only eat wet food, I assume because her teeth bother her.

The past few visits to the vet, she's been super healthy! Up until the last time I took her in and they noticed her dental issues were worsening.

So, they noticed one of her canines is chipped and it's also loose. She's also missing a tooth on the top row behind her canine. They can't tell yet if it's FORL or something similar because I'm waiting for my husbands monthly paycheck in order to get the ball rolling on x-rays and such.

I did notice, however, in the past few days, sometimes when she's asleep or just wakes up, her bottom jaw spasms and she almost seems like she's a little out of it.. It almost looks like a mild seizure, or as if she's in a "nursing trance" (some baby squirrels can get this when they drink milk.) I think it's from her teeth, like FORL resulting in an exposed nerve in her gums, and it's worrying me, but I can't find ANY actual information online about these jaw/mouth spasms or trembling despite my constant research.

She has an appointment with the vet in 5 days, as I just changed my schedule and am tight with work until next week. But I was curious if anyone had any history or experiences with something like this or any knowledge on what could be wrong. I know not everyone is a doctor and going to the vet will give me the information I need, but I was just curious if anyone's been through this before or had something similar happen, since I still have a few day until the vet sees her. Thanks in advance!
