So i am at the beach for the week and there this 5&10 shop that sells crabs. Before you say anything i know your not supposed to get them from stores like that but i don't see anything wrong with it if i plan on giving my crab or crabs the best life possible. Because after all me buying or not buying crabs from people like that won't stop them from selling them so i might as well get a few and give them a better Life then they would have with a 7 year old girl that would probably end up buying them if i didn't. i was going to get them at the end of the week because i have no way to take care of them unless i want to buy one of those shitty cages they have which i might depending on the price so i can cut it open for the chicken wire. But what one of my friends told me i can do is literally just put one or two (which ever you guys think would fit) in one of those big plastic tubs i think there called critter keepers or something but i still have one from my rat that my friend said would be good. He also said that i don't need a heater or humidity thing. He said all i really need is something for them to climb on (a log) and then something for them to climb up i was just thinking about wrapping the chicken wire from the cage around a tiny tree or something but any other ideas would be great. And then Just a sponge for salt water and a dish for food and another dish for freshwatr and of course gravel or sand with a hut. But Is there anything else? Will my crabs be able to thrive in a enclosure like that? Do i need anything else? Should i get one or two or none at all? Because i want to make sure there happy and shit. Also the main reason i want to do the critter keeper is because it's easy to take with me and hide if i ever need to because i want to have them in my dorm where anything greater than a fish is frowned upon. Also what should i feed them and how often Shoud i give them fresh food i know the stuff at the 5&10 probably isn't the best but maybe the shit they got at Petco is better? Also how often Shoud i replace their shells and with what? Like i heard that your not supposed to put craps in painted shells Because the paint can seep through to the crab and poison them but i don't know how true that is. i also hope it's not because they do have some cute shells lol but if it is true i will absolutely use natural. But yea that's it sorry for the giant paragraph lol but Thanks in advance for the help and advice. Anything else i'm forgetting?
