Hello folks, I have a 5 to 6 month old BSH cat. So far, he has been very nice to everyone coming to visit us, very cuddly and ... obedient? (it sounds very strong, but he doesn't bite, nor scratch). I work from 9 to 5 on a daily basis and he got used to my schedule, I try to spend time with him in the morning and then play with him a few minutes when I return. He prefers to sit nearby me and he stares at me and it creeps me out. Can't use the bathroom or take a nap because he meows me like he never did before, I don't let him sleep in the same room as me because I tried doing so a few times and he hated it.
Since last weekend, when I was away for a day and a half, he has been acting weird. When I got home he started started meowing louder than usual. There was a bit of food and water left so the bowls were not empty. When I open a door and see him a few feet away, he hisses me, sometimes, when I enter the room, he starts again. I caught him chewing the curtains and the furniture, scolded him. He continues to eat and drink normally.
I plan to take him to the vet very soon, though his eating and toilet habits have not changed. One of the things that I can think of is that he might need more space to go around, I live in a studio apartment with AC. My parents have a house, maybe if I take him there for the time being, he'd be happy again? Also, I am very worried about him that it shows and I cannot concentrate on my after work studies (I have some qualifications to ace). My neighbors started complaining about the noise he makes, is he's too small to be sterilized?
