We have a 16 year old cat. Good health other than he's deaf. We had him into the vet a week ago for a check-up before anyone asks. He's happy, and gets around just find. But he meows when I get up in the morning. And will NOT be quiet. These are nice meows. Not upset, but the kind where he makes different vocalizations and talks to me. The problem is that it's driving me crazy. He either sits or wanders around and just talks. He can't hear himself. But I can't even enjoy a morning anymore. He just won't be quiet. And my wife gets upset when she wakes up to find him locked in the bathroom (it's my only solution so I don't kill him). We've tried adjusting feeding times and everything else. Ignoring him for hours and hours doesn't work. Any ideas?
Edit - I should say this doesn't stop. Like, hours of constant meowing
