A good friend of mine has a 10 or so year old dog that is absolutely falling apart. She can’t walk and spends every minute of the day lying on this absolutely disgusting blanket on the floor in the house. She is covered in fleas and open sores. She has no toys or anything to occupy her and has terrible arthritis so she’s constantly in pain. They give her baby aspirin when they remember - which I imagine isn’t every day. When she whines, they joke that she’s “faking it”. I can’t go to their house anymore and look at this. It’s driving me insane. What can I do so as to not hurt my friendship but help this sweet poor baby?
