My cat just ate his own diarrhea. How do I seem him as cute again? More importantly, how do I bathe him?

My cat had bad diarrhea. It was streaming down his butt fur. I don’t think I can ever get that image out of my head. He then ate it. How do I bathe him. He really hates water. He’s very sweet but will attack if he is upset. The only groomer near me isn’t available for awhile
