Anybody tried a pet/cat tracker?

My precious fir baby Rex, loves to go missing every so often for around a week at a time.

We shout his name around the neighborhood and he's nowhere to be seen but when my mum posts on Facebook that he's missing he returns home within the hour (this has happened a few times). Rex is microchipped so if someone tried to return him they know where he lives.

I suspect he's living a double life with another family but I'd like to know of anybody can recommend a tracker that works. My mum bought a cheap one online that's useless so I'm not too bothered about money as long as I can find out where he is wandering to and that he's safe.

also just a FYI he's the most loved & spoilt cat. He's suuuuuuuper affectionate, loves to cuddle and has endless love from me, my mum and our friends. (Everybody knows who he is as he's such a boss cat)
