So, our senior dog, Ellie, has pretty severe anxiety. She’s usually whiny if me or my wife aren’t around. She’s 5 years old now.
My wife and I recently moved and got a puppy (a golden) and Ellie is very unhappy about it. She avoids the puppy, won’t go where she is, and gets very aggressive if the puppy tries to play with her. So far, it’s just been growling and the occasional snip but tonight she seemed to have actually bit the puppy.
I read online that some of this behavior can be normal and it’s only been about 4 days. I just hope to open the conversation to see what I can maybe do differently, put my mind at ease, or help me find the next step of this behavior continues.
