Tldr at bottom
My first cat is a male apex hunter kind of cat (rescued). He's loving like a dog and playful like a murderer.
Maybe a year after we got him, we got a tiny manx. Rescued, full grown, and she's a chonk now. Went from 8 to 12# and she's not a huge cat.
They cuddle together, clean each other and play. But sometimes it's not playing. She really loves him because she's sad when he goes out at night, cleans and loves him when he comes back, and follows him around. She will instigate fights which is cute but really stupid (think a Pomeranian biting a Pitbull's neck)
She started peeing outside the litter box. Our vet said she's being attacked when she goes. I started paying attention and realized this is true. So I started chasing my male cat away when she goes and she's very thankful. She's pretty shy, but when I protect her she comes up and speaks to me and asks for pets.
The cats love going on my side porch because it's outside without being outside. I started letting my male cat out once I was sure he was bonded to us (he ran away from his first family, second family gave him up because he's not nice to kittens)
He's not so interested in the porch anymore now that he can go in the woods and bring me mice.
She LOVES being in the porch. She comes in to eat at their specified times and then sits by the door to be let out.
My girlfriend said the cat might feel like she's not welcome in the house. At first I didn't think much of it because she always says emotional stuff like that haha, but now I'm wondering.
Does she truly just enjoy being out there? (Yes)
More importantly, is she afraid for her safety being in here? This one I'm unsure about. She's much happier and less shy on the porch when she's alone. She sleeps all day no matter where she's at because she's a lazy chonk.
How can I protect her?
Tl;dr My fat female manx gets bullied occasionally by my male hunter cat. She's been spending her days on my enclosed porch happily, but is she just afraid for her safety inside?
