We got our cat a few years ago (she's 5 now) and ever since she's always perched up on her box to poop. Urination is a normal squat, but in the 2 years we've had her, I can count on one hand the number of times she's not perched to poop.
It always seemed silly and quirky but sometimes poop falls on her leg as a result. She hates when we try and clean her so she walks around with literal shit on her leg and gets in on her pillow and sometimes the floor. If she's having dietary issues it's even worse, and loose stool will end up everywhere.
Obviously it isn't normal, but we don't know if anybody else has had a similar issue, if it is at all reversible, but most of all, if it is bad for her or just a weird habit.
